Most soon-to-be mothers expect a glowing skin during pregnancy. At times, pregnant women encounter skin troubles such as patchy, dry skin with hyperpigmentation or acne issues. There are ways to tackle the skin problems by following healthy skin care routine, some of which are given below:
Step 1: Cleanse your skin
Use a good cleanser to wash your face every morning and night to get rid of dirt, oil and sweat. Following this, wipe your face with toner on a cotton pad to finish the cleansing process. This will avoid acne and pimple spots.
Step 2: Exfoliate when required
If your skin looks dull due to the dead skin, oil, make up or sunscreen residue, try scrub to exfoliate. Do not exfoliate more than twice a week as it might damage the skin layer.

Regularly moisturize your skin with moisturizers rich in vitamin E or cocoa butter for your body. If you have oily to combination skin, use face moisturizers specific for your skin type.
Step 4: Nourishment gives life
Drinking water is the best way to nourish your skin. The summer and pregnancy can leave your body dehydrated, it is better to drink plenty of water to hydrate and nourish your skin. You can also try home-made face packs that will soften your face to add nourishment.
Step 5: Refresh with wipes
Throw some wet wipes in your bag before stepping out. Whenever your skin looks dull, refresh with wet wipes or wash with water. As wet wipes are available in various fragrances, you can buy the one that will not interfere with your nausea.
Step 6: Conceal the patches
Most women tend to develop patches on the forehead and cheeks during the second and third trimester. As bleaching the skin is not advisable during pregnancy, use concealer to cover the patches formed in the skin.
